Coffey subsidiary secures US$66m law contract

Coffey International Limited (COF) said its US-based subsidiary, MSI had been awarded a US$66.3 million rule of law project, funded by USAID/Mexico. Coffey said the five year “Rule of Law III: Support for Legal Reforms” project was the third USAID-funded initiative of its kind, which aims to prevent and eradicate organised crime.

More specifically, MSI said it would support Mexican-led efforts to improve the justice system, professionalise law enforcement and reduce human trafficking and human rights abuses.

The aim of the project would be to help Mexico meet global standards in the U.N. and Inter-American Conventions.

MSI said it would try to achieve its aims through policy reforms, specialised training, technical assistance and public outreach.

At the close of trade Thursday, Coffey shares were $1.93.
