Packaging giant Amcor Limited (AMC) said it may be forced to divest a flexible packaging plant with sales of less than US$100 million as it seeks to have its proposal to purchase parts of Alcan packaging passed by anti-trust legislators in the US and Europe. Amcor said off-loading a plant would have no material impact on the business, with the combined Amcor and Alcan Packaging businesses in Europe ringing up sales of US$4.8 billion across 75 plants last year.
Bank of Queensland Limited (BOQ) announced the resignation of director Peter Fox, effective close of business Wednesday, 25 November 2009. The company said Mr Fox had a number of roles within the bank since being a member of the board since 2001 including serving on the Budget Review Committee. Mr Fox is currently executive chairman of Fox Group Holdings, director of the Alfred Foundation and a member of the Australian Graduate School of Management Advisory Council at the University of New South Wales. Mr Fox said he is retiring from the board to concentrate on the strategic expansion of the Linfox Group.
